Hi, I’m Allison and I’m a domestic abuse survivor, thriver, retired psychologist, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and lover of all things beautiful and good. I hope my blog inspires and encourages and uplifts, and even makes you laugh from time to time.

I was in private practice for close to 15 years and in that time I met some incredible women (teachers, nurses, pilots, homemakers, entrepreneurs, you name it) who were in abusive relationships.  I was frustrated that I could only share bits of my story and that I could only share it one person at a time.

I retired from my practice so that I could write my story in hopes of empowering more women to find their voices, to get out of abusive marriages and relationships, and find their freedom.  I’ve written my manuscript and I hope to get it published. My abuse started in my family and continued into my adulthood when I married a man who was so violent that I thought he was going to kill me one night.

Thank you for coming along with me on this journey; I’m excited you’re with me! Thank you for reading and leaving comments when your spirit moves.
